I went to buy a pair of pants one bright and sunny day/and found the price of britches more than I could ever pay/I asked the owner of the store how this had come about/"We can't get clothes from China!" he did tell me with a shout/The tariffs were so high that just a simple pair of socks/cost more than a year's supply of bagels and of lox/I left his store, a-pondering how could I ever dress/myself again without much grief and trouserless distress/At last I have decided that instead of lacking food/because of clothing prices -- I will get by in the nude!
