After the storm and the sorrow,
after the wreckage is clear,
some can begin on tomorrow,
while others are strangled by fear.
Silence descends like a cover;
stillness spreads like the salt sea.
Over the land now will hover
the echo of our Deity.
The keening is hushed and forgotten;
our tears are beginning to dry.
Whatever the day has begotten,
my Savior is standing nearby.
