Rebuke the melancholy pall
that over face and form doth sprawl!
Awake, instead, my timid soul,
rejoicing in what Christ makes whole.
The work ahead, whate'er may be,
can all be done with gaiety.
Crafts and skill, by hand or mind,
should lead to joy that's unconfined!
The workman worthy of his hire
should be our motto to inspire.
