I never called on God in vain.
His purposes benign remain.
Even when the answer seems
delayed or far beyond my dreams.
His goodness and His mercy stay
with me through ev'ry trial today.
Gifted have I been so long
I ought to sing His praise in song.
So when the heavens don't respond,
I'll wait with heart secure and fond.
Answers must mature, and I
must do the same as time goes by.
