The unseen world is closer than we like to think about.
It can’t be contradicted even though we sneer or shout.
But neither should we summon it with unwise imprecations,
Lest we find ourselves a hostage to its demonstrations.
I’d rather summon sunlight and the warmth of this dimension
Than deal with unknown spirits who might pay me foul attention.
